About the technique
The original art of tattooing
Long before the machine was invented, hand-poke was the only way to tattoo. The technique has been used for thousands of years — from Polynesia to Egypt and Japan. It's a method that has endured for good reason: it works, and it delivers a result with its own soft character.
I work with needles of different sizes depending on the design and level of detail. Every dot is pressed in by hand, calmly and deliberately. That gives me full control and gives you an experience many describe as calmer and more meditative than sitting with a machine.
Hand-poke is excellent for fine line work, geometric patterns, botanical motifs, lettering and abstract shapes. Get in touch if you're wondering whether your idea suits the technique — often it turns out to be an exciting combination.
Before your tattoo you'll fill out a health declaration and sign a treatment agreement. Minors need a signed authorisation from both guardians.
