About the treatment
How laser tattoo removal works
Laser tattoo removal is a gentle way to get rid of a tattoo you no longer want to carry. The laser sends short, powerful pulses of light through the skin that break the tattoo ink down into microscopic particles. Your body's own immune system then gradually takes care of the rest, naturally clearing away the pigment, treatment by treatment.
Most tattoos need between 6 and 10 treatments to fully disappear, spaced roughly 6–8 weeks apart. This gives the skin time to heal and the immune system time to work before the next session. Exactly how many treatments you'll need depends on the tattoo's size, colour, depth, and your skin type — something we go through carefully at the free consultation.
Dark and black pigment usually responds best to treatment, while lighter colours or multi-coloured tattoos may need more sessions. Whether the goal is to remove the tattoo completely or simply fade it enough for a cover-up, we build a plan around what suits you.
Many people worry about the pain before booking their first treatment. Most describe the sensation as similar to being snapped with a rubber band — brief and intense, but over quickly. We cool the skin throughout the treatment to keep it as comfortable as possible.
