Aftercare

Aftercare – SMP

Aftercare is at least as important as the treatment itself. Follow the instructions carefully for optimal healing and long-lasting results.

Day 1–4

The first days

Do not

  • Wash or wet the scalp.
  • Exercise or take part in activities that cause sweating.
  • Use saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis or go swimming.
  • Expose the area to direct sunlight.
  • Touch, scratch or pick at the treated area.
  • Shave or trim the scalp.

Keep in mind

  • Keep the scalp dry and clean.
  • Use clean pillowcases and hats/caps if needed.
  • Mild redness and tenderness may occur during the first few days.
Day 5–7

Gentle restart

You can

  • Gently rinse the scalp with lukewarm water.
  • Use a mild, fragrance-free cleanser if needed.
  • Apply a light, fragrance-free moisturizer if the scalp feels dry.

Still avoid

  • Intense exercise and excessive sweating.
  • Swimming pools, sea bathing and saunas.
  • Razors and aggressive scrubbing of the scalp.
Day 8–14

Gradual return to normal

You can

  • Return to lighter exercise.
  • Carefully trim your hair if needed.
  • Wash the scalp normally with a mild shampoo.

Continue to keep in mind

  • Protect the scalp from strong sun.
  • Avoid products containing alcohol, acids or harsh chemicals.
After 14 days

Long-term care

You can and should

  • You can usually return to your normal routine.
  • Use SPF 30–50 during sun exposure and moisturize the scalp regularly.
  • Avoid excessive UV exposure and use mild hair and skin products.

Normal during healing

Mild redness, dryness or slight flaking may occur. The pigment may look darker during the first few days, and some areas may appear lighter during healing before the final result settles. This is a normal part of the body's natural healing process.

Contact your technician if you experience

  • Significant swelling.
  • Persistent pain.
  • Signs of infection, such as discharge or increasing redness.
  • Any other unusual reactions.

Healing can vary depending on skin type and the extent of the treatment. Always follow the clinic's individual instructions. This advice does not replace medical guidance – if in doubt, contact us or seek medical care.
